SSE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2016/2017 RULES

Parent Zone for the League

At the League, there will be a designated Parent Zone with 3 Large Tents in the middle of the field. Parents are requested to watch the matches from the Player Zone Only. This is to protect the experience of your kids and to have them make their own decisions. Thank you for your cooperation.

LENGTH OF GAME

  • Duration: Two equal periods of 12 minutes. Total match time of 24 minutes
  • Half Time – 2 minutes

KICKS & THROW INS

  • A Goal scored directly from the Kick Off Spot or Goal Kick are not permitted
  • There will be Throw Ins from the touch line
  • Referees are allowed to be lenient with the Under 8 & Under 10 Teams for Foul Throws. They will be strict with the U12s, U14s and U16s.

SCORING/POINT SYSTEM

  • 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
  • At the end of the league, if 2 teams have the same number of points, positions will be decided based on Goal Difference. If Goal Difference is the same, then the league position will be decided on Head to Head, Goals Scored and then Goals Against. If by a slight chance, everything remains the same, positions will be decided by a Penalty Shoot Out (3 Penalties followed by Sudden death).

GOALKEEPERS

  • Goalkeepers can handle the ball only within the ‘D’ area.
  • The goalkeeper ‘D’ area will be clearly marked
  • No Volleys will be permitted. However, under arm or over arm throws are allowed.
  • Back pass rule is Active for all Age Groups. (Goal keepers are not allowed to catch the ball from an intentional back pass from a team member)

LESS THAN 5 PLAYERS IN A TEAM

  • In case a team has only 3 or 4 players present on a given match day, the opposite team Coach has the right to choose whether they would like play with equal number of players or with his full squad of 5 players
  • In case a team has 2 players or less on a given match day, the opposite team will be given a walkover. Kids from both the teams will play a Combined Friendly match instead.
  • The walk over score will be 4 – 0
  • For Walk Overs, Goals awarded to Winning Team Players will be calculated based on their record of number of Goals scored in previous games relative to their team mates.

UNIQUE SSE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RULES FOR ROLLING SUBSTITUTIONS & CHANGE OF GOAL KEEPERS

  • Coaches have been instructed to change the substitutes in such a manner that every player gets equal playing time
  • In case a team has 2 players or less on a given match day, the opposite team will be given a walkover. Kids from both the teams will play a Combined Friendly match instead.
  • All Players will take turns to go in Goal so that no child is a designated Goal Keeper for the entire game. If a Team has a designated Goal Keeper who would like to only play in goal, then the Coach has the flexibility to not change his Goal Keeper.
  • Referees will blow the whistle every 4 minutes to allow coaches to make their subs.

Exceptions to the Unique SSE Champions League Rules

  • These rules will be followed by all SSE Academy Teams except for in the U12 Age Category ( League 1).
  • Non SSE Teams may or may not adhere to the Unique SSE Champions League Rules. It will be the decision of the respective Team Coach.

IMPORTANT OVER AGE PLAYER RULE

  • Teams found to have played with an Over Age Player will be docked / deducted all their points accumulated in the League. They will start the next League match with Zero points on the table
  • Needless to say, the Over Age player will not be allowed to take part in the Same Age Category in the League
  • SSE holds the right to disallow Players to participate in future matches if they have not submitted their Age Proofs.
